The studierendenWERK BERLIN is responsible for Berlin students and tailors its offerings to their needs. The target group is young, academically educated and has a high affinity for modern communication technology. The proportion of international students (some of whom have to speak English) is around a fifth. Every semester a new generation arrives on campus. A classic “regular customer” knows this studierendenWERK BERLIN  not due to these rapid changes.

The total of 102 facilities of the studierendenWERKs BERLIN are distributed decentrally throughout the city. They are located close to the 20 cooperating universities and the Charité. The central administration is based in Charlottenburg, in the immediate vicinity of the University of the Arts and the Technical University.

Im studierendenWERK There are a variety of working time regulations. Working hours for full-time employment are 39 hours per week.

For the majority of office workplaces, a flexitime regulation applies from 6 a.m. to 20 p.m. with a core time of 3 to 4,5 hours. In some areas, core hours can be extended through office hours. 

Working hours in the canteens, coffee bars and daycare centers are regulated by duty rosters.

Weekend assignments are rare, but certainly possible.

The Wages for the employees of the studierendenWERKs BERLIN are regulated in the “collective agreement for the takeover of the TVöD for the Studentenwerk Berlin (takeover TV Studentenwerk Berlin)”.

There are open-plan offices studierendenWERK BERLIN not. Our offices are staffed by 1 - 3 employees and equipped with ergonomic work equipment. This includes precisely fitting office chairs, partially height-adjustable desks and the right room lighting.

The employees in the kitchens receive work clothes, which are cleaned studierendenWERK takes over.

We have equipped our kitchens with air conditioning, ventilation systems and the latest technology. Ergonomic work aids such as pallet trucks make everyday life easier for employees.

Additional meeting rooms enable undisturbed exchanges for working groups and committees.

Numerous colleagues also volunteer in the organization. You can work with us as a trainer, first aider, fire protection assistant or safety officer. We also offer training for these functions.
